Pastor's Blog

Welcome To My Blog

I hope this Blog will be interactive and spark questions regarding the Sunday Sermon, a Bible lesson, a Sunday School lesson, or specific topics on Christian Living. I hope it will change from week to week and it will be open to all.

This is the truly a new day for Mount Vernon! Not only do we have a website, our Pastor has a blog!
I am so very happy for Reverend Washington and the Mount Vernon family and the outreach is that is possible with this blog. I am looking forward to the sharing about Jesus!
Hallelujah! This a great tool of communication for our church. I just love the on-line hymnal site. Blessings to the committee.
Yesterday's launch of Mount Vernon Baptist Church's long-awaited website proved to be well worth the wait! Our members seemed to have been very interested and attentive to each committee person's presentation. The Website Committee should certainly be commended for its hard work. The sermon was great and to the point. Very well done, Pastor. In a book entitled "Pennies from Heaven" by Dr. D. James Kennedy, he speaks to us about our obedience to GOD--not the preacher or some teacher--that we tithe. When we tithe, you confirm your faith in GOD. Our spiritual living will grow and be strengthened. Our families and finances will be blessed. God already knows about our needs, but He wants us to trust Him. I challenge every member of Christ's family to give more for Christ's work. Pray that He delivers us from worry. Try God's way for He blesses beyond our needs!!!!
NOTE: The above comment was suppoesed to have shown that this comment was posted by Velma Wilson; however, the name was somehow deleted in an attempt to do some editing. (Still learning) How about this past weekends' seminar! This seminar was enjoyed by some 125 people. There was never a dull moment. A seminar of this sort should be planned at least on an annual basis. All facilitators proved to have been experts on their subject matter. Answers to questions were biblically based. When one accepts Christ in his life, reading your Bible daily and praying for wisdom and understanding is like a dose of medicine for the sin sick soul. I extend a personal invitation to all people to let GOD come in and fill you with the holy spirit so that the evil one cannot find a place to sit, stand or lie down. BE BLESSED!
My compliments to all involved in seting this up. It is truly a step forward in maintaining lines communication accross age groups and distance. Job well done.
This new website proves that hard work and preserverence as well as keeping the faith and believing and trusting in God definitely pays off, it's a beautiful website with room to grow,The Website Committee can not be thanked enough for a job well done. Also, everything that went on at church this past weekend from the "Rekindling the Fire Through Study" Seminar to Sunday morning service was eeeeexcellent!:)
I logged on this awesome site today and found it to be very informative and look forward to the unending possibilities.
Thanks for creating an opportunity for members of our church to stay connected to each so that we will be able to share our spiritual journeys. We can also use this as a means to invite others to Christ, tell our own stories about the goodness of God and celebrate victories for Christ. We have experienced many changes over the last three years and we know that there are many more positive ones to come. Again, thanks to the leaders of this effort in bringing us into the 21st century. Percy E. Murray
Congratulations Website Committee, on a job well done!

Maybe an item a session. i hope these sessions can include a practical as well as spiritual discussion.
