Last weekend, at a rally at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC, television personality, Glenn Beck boldly criticized President Obama's religion. Mr. Beck called it a "perversion." He said that America "isn't recognizing the president's version of Christianity." Mr. Beck characterized it as "liberation theology."
Despite critique of Mr. Obama's Christianity a recent poll showed that nearly 20% of Americans believe falsely that the president is Muslim.
It is my desire to make the Pastor's Blog an innovative, provocative conversation on all aspects of religion and faith. I pray that this goal is being accomplished. Recently, some New York-area rabbis are planning to bring weapons to High Holy Day services this month to guard against terrorist threats. In June 2009, a Kentucky pastor invited his congregation members to bring their firearms to church to celebrate the Second Amendment.

Being a peacemaker is not the same as being a peacekeeper. Making peace does not mean you try to keep everybody happy. A peacemaker does not say yes to everybody and everything. A peacemaker builds their character on truth and righteousness. We can create true peace if we are at peace with God. Peacemakers are also those who try to make peace even if they fail.
